Gus Dur passed away this evening. I got an sms from Najwan while I'm driving my car near Subang Jaya.
Just before that I was told by Wan Saiful, my boss during my tenure at Malaysia Think Tank, Rajan Rishyakaran died in a car crash. Rajan was a participant in Malaysia Think Tank' Freedom Academy that was held in Penang on May 2008.
I remember him as Tunku 'Abidin's friend, long time libertarian who was doing economy in Singapore. I got chance to drop him at Pudu Raya bus station before he left to Singapore and that is the last time we ever met.
Goodbye Rajan, and Gus Dur as well.
